Nine Yards: Cardiff’s Answer to Pastries and Prosecco

Cardiff is ever expanding when it comes to trendy places to eat and drink, and this summer the capital city has a new Italian patisserie and prosecco bar in town. Find out more about this dreamy café here.

The Fine Details

The Italian patisserie and prosecco bar, known as Nine Yards (aka heaven), is on St Mary Street in place of the Bunk House.

The beauty of Nine Yards is that it opens bright and early for breakfast and serves dinner right up until 10pm. For those who like to enjoy a cheeky drink, you’ll be pleased to know that the bar is open until midnight!

Nine Yards is run by Italian pastry chef Piero Cutrupi and passionate foodie Jonathan White, who has over a decade’s experience in the industry.

What’s on the Menu?

Prosecco and pastries of course but, that’s not all. Nine Yards also serves up tasty Italian dishes, such as authentic lasagne, fresh caprese salad and a selection of tasty paninis. You’ll be spoilt for choice with the extensive menu but once you come here once, you’ll no doubt be back again for more. Be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner or simply popping in for a delicious pastry!

Bottoms up

Prosecco has taken the nation by storm, there’s no doubt about that. In fact, the Italian drink is even outselling champagne and at Nine Yards you can choose from 30 different varieties. Not a prosecco drinker? Then fear not, you can enjoy a nice cold pint of Peroni or Birra Moretti, and there’s a selection of Italian bottled beers and lagers too.

Cardiff’s First Prosecco and Pastry Bar

Nine Yards is an Italian patisserie by day and a prosecco bar by night, an establishment that’s unlike any other in the city. Inspired by Italian café culture, the cool café bar offers a selection of amazing pastries, such as a range of tarts, lemon cheesecake and heavenly, traditional Italian specialties.

Choose to sit inside this gem of a café bar or, if the weather‘s nice, why not sit outside and watch St Mary Street go by? With high wooden bench-style tables to sit at, you can enjoy Italian food and drink alfresco. Shame you can’t be on the Amalfi coast, hey?
