When you think about city living, you don’t imagine hurling yourself down white water rapids or crawling through muddy puddles with thousands of other people. However, if you want to live on the more adventurous side you don’t need to leave the bright lights of the city – you can do them on your own front door!
If you’re living in Cardiff then you’re in a prime position for taking on some high-adrenaline activities. Here are just a few of the things you can do that will leave your heart in your throat:
White Water Rafting
That’s right, you can enjoy an activity that’s typically preserved for being 20 miles out into the middle of nowhere without leaving city limits. How is this possible I hear you ask? Well, that’s all thanks to Cardiff International White Water centre which provides a manmade course that delivers all the thrills, spills and foamy white water that you could expect from a natural river.
Think this is just an elaborate lazy river? Think again! Check out this video showing just how extreme this white water rafting can be:
Go Karting
Do you feel the need for speed? Then suit up and head to Team Sport in Cardiff for some awesome petrol fuelled excitement. Listen to the engine revs tearing through the air, rip around corners at breakneck speed and prove to your mates once and for all who’s the best driver. This course features a bridge, plenty of corners and a straight that allows you to really gun your kart up to speed.
Aerial Adventure Course
Love an obstacle course? Enjoy being suspended at height and using zip wires to get about? You need to try out the Air Trail at the Cardiff International White Water centre. With a monkey swing, Burma bridge, barrel crawl and much, much more you’ll be sure to have an absolutely outstanding time traversing this challenging course while the white water churns its cold, frothy foam meters below you.
Bounce for your Lives
If you love trampolines then you absolutely have to visit Go Air Trampoline Park in Llanishen. With every inch of the venue covered in trampolines, you will literally be bouncing off the walls! Jumping around like a maniac not extreme enough for you? Why not get a group of mates together and have a go playing trampoline dodgeball? Dodge, dip, dive, duck and dodge your way to victory!
Skiing
Pardon? That’s right, you can get ready for the snowy Alps from the comfort of Cardiff city centre and it isn’t just restricted to skiing either. If you’d rather snowboard then that’s just fine or if you want something that provides all the thrills with none of the skills then why not try tubing? Wizz your way down Cardiff Ski and Snowboard Centre on whatever means of transport you desire and reap the buzz that follows this addictive activity.
Consider yourself a pro already? Why not test your mettle in the freestyle area with rails, jumps, boxes and obstacles that’ll keep you exciting.
Rock Climbing
Thanks to the invention of an indoor climbing wall, you no longer have to worry about wind and rain when trying to get your climbing fix. Boulders, found on Newport Road, provides an exciting range of walls to test your abilities, push you limits and let you have a huge amount of fun and adventure. With so many different areas to go on and plenty of wall space, you don’t have to worry about people getting in your way and ruining your flow.
With this many awesome activities to enjoy in Cardiff, why would you even think about living anywhere else? This is the perfect city location for adventure enthusiasts with even more awesome activities like BikePark Wales, Margam Park and Becon Beacons just a short trip away.
